An award winning wedding photojournalist, Margaret Lake, started her photojournalism career at the University of Texas at Austin in 1992. Margaret completed a photojournalism internship in Johannesburg, South Africa, where amongst her many adventures there she met and photographed then Pres. Nelson Mandela in 1995.

Her work has been seen in The Dallas Morning News, The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram as well as other newspapers, bridal magazines, the internet, galleries, and homes around the world. She has been a public speaker for churches, schools, civic events, photographic peers and Barnes and Noble Booksellers to share with audiences of all ages and backgrounds her experiences as a world traveler and as a photojournalist. Margaret has traveled all over the United States, Mexico, England, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Australia, and Costa Rica. Since 1982, she has lived in Flower Mound, TX and been married since Valentine's Day 1998 to Flower Mound Police Captain Byron Lake. Together, they are raising his son, Justin.

She has served on her county's Grand Jury, volunteered with several non-profit organizations, was voted Mrs. Congeniality in the Mrs. Texas competition in 2003 and has been an active member of her church dating back to her childhood in Wisconsin.

Margaret enjoys photography, travel, scrapbooking, visiting historic homes, pop culture, telling jokes, and of course, spending time with friends and family.
